Construction began in 1968; 207 rooms, meeting rooms and an outdoor pool were built over a 193,568 sq. Meters surface. Hotel opened in august 14, 1970.
In 1989, 90 rooms were remodeled to become 35 villas & condos. At the same time, 35 rooms were completely remodeled.
Since 2002, all rooms, restaurants and public areas are being remodeled. Nowadays the hotel has 120 rooms.
El tapatio hotel & resort is one of the most representative hotels of guadalajara. With its colonial mexican style, luxuriously horizontally constructed, spacious and comfortable rooms, free parking outside your room, cobblestone streets and an abundance of beautiful gardens surrounding the pool. It has five meeting rooms to fit all your convention needs, racquet club with four lighted clay tennis courts, gourmet and specialities restaurants, piano-bar, cafeteria, disco-bar, gym, jogging track, volleyball court and game room.
